As odd as the concept is for a video game, they capture the spirit of the book well. It's not particularly deep or engaging as a game, but it's simple, peaceful, and reflective. As Thoreau's life in the woods would have been. Thanks USC Games, and thank

One of the most enjoyable games i've played in years. A bit too much time is needed on survival rather than exploring - but maybe that is the message

This is a nature-themed historical Walking Sim, with some "fake" survival elements. And when I say "fake", I mean you can't really die. The worst that can happen is that you faint from overexerting yourself, but then you immediately wake up in your bed.

An existential and literally masterpiece. This is a story of a two year recluse of Thoreau. It is a bit grindy (game has some survival elements like gathering food, repairing shelter, gathering wood) however the main focus is on the exploration of the nat

meditative and gentle. Love how reading is incorporated into the game. Certain things are annoying in traditional game sense, but to remove them is to lose the spirit of HDT. Turns out living in a cabin (no matter how often your mum does your washing for

A man who plays lives a thousand lives before they die. A man who never plays lives only one. EDIT: I made a mod that fixes the mouse issues. You can get it from nexusmods or the steam discussions

This game rules. They nailed the pond. Slow, but perfect as like an interactive museum of Thoreau's mind palace. Might be best played in bed on a steam deck (it runs great). Can't really imagine anyone who likes the book being fond of this game.

I love the game. At first I was too relaxed and spent several days wandering around, and noticed that I was already too late to seed my bean field :O. I found out when I read Emerson´s harvesting book! I am a contemplative person, also when gaming, so I

This is easily the worst game I have ever played. The idea of putting Henry David Thoreau's book into a game is solid, but the execution is unbelievably poor. The camera is janky and jittery (unless you have your lantern out, then it becomes normal). Ther

I live in a small shack without walls and with most of the roof missing, in a fairly large piece of nature that's mostly taken up by a fairly large lake. I stroll slowly around this lake at a leisurely pace, taking pithy notes about the trees and the plan

Cannot in good faith recommend this, as much as I wanted to like it. I love walking simulators with light survival elements, I love slow cozy games about wandering outside. I don't mind poor or simple graphics. But the experience of playing this game is i

之前上过USC的课的老师们的作品,作为步行模拟器真的蛮治愈的而且还是名著改编,但很可惜我晕3D(。

Until a FOV changing option is present, the game is unplayable for me. Not even 10 minutes in and I have a migraine from the close FOV. The concept seems amazing from what I saw, I just cant enjoy it with the low FOV.
