I am a big fan of IP Gauge system (Grandia II, Child of Light, FFX, Thaumaturge) so it is a green light for me, need more mana - learn words, need more tips in learning - search words in the open world around you, as people already had said; you wanna get

I bought this game a while ago and I really enjoyed it. I played the Spanish role first and found it helpful. It is a great alternative to phone apps and much more fun than basic flashcards or Duolingo. Since I'm not a big gamer, I appreciate the game for

Ok, I played this game with "German -> Japanese" first. That was on my Steam-Deck. I already found that the translations of some words were off and the controls are absolutely awful. Then I've wanted to switch to my PC and found out, that the saves are NO

I wish it worked. As an ESL teacher, I'm constantly looking for ways to integrate video games into the classroom. I’ve tried this game a couple of times with my students. They enjoyed it during the first 10 minutes of gameplay, but then it got boring.

EDIT: I even went on their discord for help but they ignored me. They don't care about the PC port anymore.
DON'T BUY UNLESS ON SALE BUT EVEN THEN you can get SOFT LOCKED at the VERY END of the game and can't continue, and you are stuck in the area with

Good game and really helpful in expanding your vocabulary with words you're not typically taught when learning a new language. I've only done Korean so far and I've only got just over 2.5 hours recorded and I'd say I've already added about 25-30 new words

It's challenging and it's definitely got some inefficient/cumbersome features but I'd say it's an enjoyable tool and actually a decent enough game. It's essentially a fairly fun and quirky way of gamifying language learning. I'm using it for mandarin and

I really, really wish Steam had a Mixed category for just this game.
I almost always write a review only after completing the Main Quest - I don't think I'll ever finish Terra Alia.
The game is beautiful, the story feels compeling, but the combat is

Great idea, super janky execution.
I got the game in a Humble Bundle, and while the mini games gamifying language learning are fun and tie in to the main game world and concept well, the larger game is executed poorly.

I really really want to like this game, especially as I'm learning Chinese and I think a gamified approach is a great way to get you engaging with the language a lot. However it has a big flaw with being used as a tool for learning Chinese, in that it doe

Mandarin Chinese pinyin transliteration has no tones. I think it is useless for beginners, for whom the game is intended, without the tone markings — those are absolutely necessary!
I'll change this rating, if tones are implemented.

Whenever any game tries to be educational, it's either sort of a good game but bad at teaching, or good at teaching, but a bad game.
Terra Alia takes a middle of the road approach and becomes mediocre at both.
I sort of like it though. If you make you

I'm native English speaking and I've a few years of Russian prior to playing this game. I jumped in with Russian as the language of choice and found it quite easy to pickup and play. It's not amazing, but its certainly a game I would have loved to have ha

Its okay for learning a couple words here and there but other than that I just don't think its all that worth it unless on a VERY deep sale.
Also, I only messed around with a couple languages but some of the translations are just weird and would just con

Doesn't work well for Japanese.
A lot of the kanji used right off the bat are N2-N1 level, but the game displays the pronunciation in romaji. When players pointed out that this is terrible, the developers added a feature to "disable" the romaji, but rat

Wary of the other reviews, I started an English game learning Russian, a language I already know.
Without leaving the first room, it told me that a rock is Камень (correct, would be pronounced Kamen'), with the romanization Utes (grossly inaccurate
