Basically what if Contra had difficulty all over the place with H-scenes that didn't really line up to what was going on. I tried but as soon as I got to a level where enemies were just dropping on top of me with no real clue where to stand I gave up.

A key thing to remember is Difficult does NOT = fun.
This game is unforgiving from the very start, spawning you into infinite death loops. There is no "getting good" There is only death.
