After finally having played through Trials Legends, the official compilation of the first 3 games in the series, my stance drastically changed on this.
Don't even bother. Legends will provide a similar experience in 2D, but with more responsive controls.

Simplistic controls make this game very easy to get into and mess around in, but it seems like the kind of tablet or mobile game you play while catching public transport; something to burn 10 minutes and then put down. For that reason I can't recommend it
