Incredible game. Perfect example of "easy to learn, hard to master". If you want something light and breezy, the base game is fun but not particularly hard. Then you can try different ships, different builds, different challenges as the mood strikes you.

It started off seeming too simplistic but still a ton of fun.

Does exactly what a roguelike needs to do: drives me crazy and frustrates me, and then keeps me coming back for hours at a time. Loved that the story makes intentional use of the genre, strong recommend!!

I only occassionally play turn-based games. I bought Cobalt Core mostly because I really like the music and other works by the composer, Aaron Cherof. I really like the uplifting synth music in this game.
